Sigma DP1 test on PopPhoto.com
PopPhoto.com published a test of the Sigma DP1 on their site. They say that the DP1 sets a new standard for image quality in a compact camera. Have a read here.
Lots of good information there! Interesting that they found slightly less dynamic range with the DP1 than with most Bayer sensor DSLRs. Many Sigma DSLR users have stated or implied that DR is a particular Foveon strength, though I've seen little evidence to support or refute that. The one thing I'm pretty sure they got wrong, based on reports from Carl Rytterfalk and others, is the shot-to-shot time in RAW. 23 seconds?! They must have used one of those wood and stone SD cards :-p.
According to Carl a Sandisk Extreme III 4GB writes a RAW in 2.5s. That is faster then a Ricoh GX100. He also claims it takes 3.8s to take another photo. It really helps to turn off quick preview too to speed things up.
