Sigma DP2 is official

The Sigma DP2 is now officially announced and the Sigma website know has more information and samples. The most noticable improvements and new features are:

  • JPEG fps increased over the DP1 from 3 to 4 fps

  • ISO 50-1600

  • orientation is now recorded to the images

  • the color mode is now selectable (standard, vivid, neutral, portrait, landscape, black & white, sepia)

  • in-camera settings like contrast and sharpness are now editable

  • the camera now only has program, aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual (the auto exposure mode was removed)

  • they added another "My Settings" increasing the my settings to three

  • real-time histogram!

  • and interval timing

In combination with the faster 41mm lens this looks like a great camera to me. But typically Sigma, they still mention no release date.

Update: According to Amateur Photographer (via RAWsumer Blog), the DP2 is coming to the United States later this month!
