Euyoung has posted a six-part look at the Sigma DP1 on his blog at http://euyoung.blogspot.com/. It is easily the most thorough report I've seen yet on the DP1 and includes a detailed comparison with the GRD II. There's even a guest appearance from the Olympus E3 and Panasonic L10! The entries are written in Chinese, so English speakers may prefer to use the Google-provided translations below.
Preface - Initial Impressions
Part 1 - Box opening, camera and accessories introduced
Part 2 - DP1 LCD interface and menus
Part 3 - Report on build quality and operating performance
Part 4 - Comments on close focus, Foveon X3, and DP1 RAW vs JPEG
Part 5 - DP1 Compared to GRD2
Part 6 - Conclusion and sample images

The one thing I really like about the DP1 is the feeling of depth in the photos. That is the biggest difference to the small sensor cameras with their huge depth of field. Just like a SD and a HD videocamera.
Yes, not only the depth of the photos, but image quality overall seems excellent. It's not image quality I'm concerned with. Although you need to be careful with the coarse machine translation of Euyoung's review; he seems to indicate that the DP1's speed of operation and interface leave something to be desired for.
Yes, several people have had concerns about these aspects of the DP1. I think Euyoung's analogy with film cameras such as the GR1 and Contax T3 is apt. If one doesn't mind waiting for the next shot while advancing the film, then one will probably find the DP1 issues less limiting.
In an interview with Let's Go Digital, the Sigma COO did confess about operational performance issues of the DP1, so it looks like the translation is on the spot.
On the plus side, the operation speed may give the photographer more time t think, and thus increase the chances of getting a better photo :) (unless of course they are chasing moving objects)
You might want to check this impression by Said Karlsson. Excellent read and great photo's.

Wouter, I agree. Very nice stuff from Said. Some of the best photos I've seen taken with the DP1 to date. Nice to see him in the Flickr pool =). Best, Amin
