Thank you for posting this. Image quality looks very good to me. The camera is bigger than what I'm looking for in a serious compact. Being a compact type of guy, I think I"d get this before I'd get a DSLR just because the controls are more familiar. I hope Panasonic does well with this camera and brings out some smaller cameras based on this sensor size. Time will tell.

A bit off topic and not directed at this camera specifically, I'm getting annoyed at how every new camera has a different RAW format and people have to wait around until their favorite software supports the new format. I would like to see plug and play DNG used instead of custom RAW format in my next serious compact. You get instant gratification with a well designed DNG file, it works with current image editing software. And there's long term security as well, because DNG is less likely to be abandoned than a RAW format used by only one or two camera models.

It was surprising that Panasonic succeeded so well in bringing to market a totally new kind of serious camera. Some annoyances there are, but not really big ones. The size could be smaller, but the articulating display is a great thing to have in this size category.

And the image quality? I would guess that will evolve as well, at least I hope that Panasonic will not take part in the megapixel race.
